Arthroplasty

Joint replacement, also known as arthroplasty, can relieve pain and restore function for a worn out joint. The questionnaires at the following links can help show if a joint replacement should be discussed:

Instability

Repair or reconstruction of injured soft tissue structures in the knee or shoulder may be required to restore strength and stability to a joint. An unstable joint may be painful and limit use for strenuous activities, or in severe cases, with day to day tasks. Shoulder pain & weakness

As we age the muscles and tendons in the shoulder can become weak, unstable or tear. This can cause pain and catching leading to difficulty in day to day tasks. The questionnaire below can help indicate the level of disability from your shoulder prior to consideration of a cuff repair:
